CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Indians will induct Gaylord Perry into the Cleveland Indians Hall of Fame.
The team also announced the Jim Warfield and Jack Graney will be inducted into the Distinguished Hall of Fame for non-uniformed personnel.
The inductions will take place prior to the August 11 game against the Red Sox at Progressive Field.
Thirty-eight players have been inducted into the player's wing of the club's Hall of Fame at Heritage Park. The Distinguished Hall of Fame has just five members including the new inductees as well as owners Bill Veeck and Dick Jacobs and GM Cy Slapnicka.
Gaylord Perry is a Cooperstown Hall of Famer who was the first pitcher to win the Cy Young in each league. He played for the Tribe from 1972, the year he won his first Cy Young until 1975.
Jim Warfield was an athletic trainer for the Indians from 1965 until his death in 2002. He served as head athletic trainer from 1971 to 1996 and then as assistant trainer from 1997 to 2002. He was named Trainer of the Year in 1992.
Jack Graney was a left fielder and hit leadoff for the Indians from 1908 until 1922. He was the American League leader in doubles in 1916. He played on the Indians 1920 World Series championship team. He returned to the Indians as a play-by-play announcer from 1933 to 1953. He was the first player to turn broadcaster in baseball history.
