CHARDON -- Three students are dead and two remain hospitalized, after being wounded Monday morning in the Chardon High School shootings.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has confirmed that Daniel Parmertor, 16, died of gunshot wounds at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. Tuesday morning, the medical examiner also confirmed the death of a second student, Russell King, Jr. He was a junior at Auburn Career Center.
Tuesday afternoon, MetroHealth Medical Center released a statement confirming the the death of a third student, Demetrius Hewlin.
Nick Walczak, 17, a junior at Auburn in the alternative energy technology program, was transported to Hillcrest Hospital where his condition was not officially released. Hospital officials would only say they were treating a 17-year-old boy who was in serous condition, and an 18-year-old girl in stable condition. The 18-year-old girl being treated at Hillcrest has been identified as Joy Rickers.
Also wounded in the shooting at the Chardon High School cafeteria was junior Nate Mueller. He told WKYC he was nicked in the ear from behind by a bullet, as he sat at a cafeteria table with the other victims. Mueller was not hospitalized.
