EUCLID -- At Chardon's playoff basketball game Thursday night  in Euclid, it didn't matter what school you were with. Everyone was rooting for Chardon.

"I've never seen anything like this before," says Molly Weber, a Chardon High School student.

At the start of the game, Madison basketball players wore all black with T-shirts that simply said Chardon in white letters. And during the National Anthem, they stood side by side - not as rivals - but as teammates.

This game was supposed to take place Monday night but both teams waited for a more appropriate time.

"I'm very proud of both teams, I mean it says a lot for them to come out, it says a lot for these kids, they're not in a good position either," says Madison Coach's wife, Lori Moran.

But in a way, both teams know they needed to show support.

Whether it was cheerleaders chanting in front of the same student section or the simple act of wearing red socks with a white and blue uniform.

"I think it means a lot to them to know they have the support of the entire country. They know that and I think it's going to help them heal," says Chardon Mom, Melissa Altman.

Chardon's basketball team won the game, 78 - 59.
