Christmas may be long out of your mind, but actor/writer/director Corbin Bernsen wants you to start thinking about the holiday again -- right now.

That's because Bernsen needs your help for "3 Day Test," his upcoming movie that starts filming in Akron on March 20.

The crew is seeking "huge outdoor Christmas decorations" for the film from anybody willing to loan or donate what they have. Production is looking for large, oversized outdoor displays like moving reindeer, blow-up Santas, realistic-looking artificial Christmas trees, giant candy canes and loads of lights. No indoor decorations.

If you have something that you think would be fitting for the film, you can your decorations off at 80 West Bowery St. in downtown Akron at the following times:

  • Tuesday, March 6 and Wednesday, March 7: 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Thursday, March 8: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 10: 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

All items will be tagged and you will be called to pick up your decorations once production is finished. If you don't want your decorations back, the production will donate them to charity.

All families who donate/loan decorations will receive a credit in the film.

The movie will primarily be filmed in West Akron. It's being funded by Akron investors with a budget around $500,000.

"3 Day Test," a light comedy written by Bernsen, is a story of a man who takes extreme measures to get closer to his family during the holiday season.

Bernsen will have a small role in the movie as a burned-out hippie-turned-underground-cable-show producer.

Casting is currently underway.

This marks the second independent film Bernsen has made in Akron. Last summer he released "25 Hill" on DVD, which was about a young boy striving to save the All-American Soap Box Derby.

"25 Hill" is expected for a national DVD release later this year.
