GARFIELD HEIGHTS -- Garfield Heights Middle School was placed on lockdown Friday afternoon after a student brought a BB gun to school.
Another student reported the BB gun to administrators. The school was locked down while police were brought in to search the building.
About an hour later the school was given the all-clear and students were dismissed. Administrators say there was never any danger to students.
The lockdown did briefly delay the dismissal for Maple Leaf.
The Garfield Board of Education is commending the student who reported the BB gun and asks that all students, parents and staff continue to be alert and report any safety concerns.
