Another emotional day in Chardon as the first of the victims to die in this tragic event, is the first to be laid to rest. Danny Parmertor's funeral brought family, friends and hundreds of community members together.

It was a beautiful and heart breaking ceremony. Every seat in the church pews were filled. People stood in the lobby and St. Mary's provided two overflow rooms with a video feed of the service. Those rooms were also filled with Chardon High school students and members of the community.

Bagpipes played as Danny's casket was brought into the church.

The service started with a series of letters. The first one was written by one of Danny's best friends - who couldn't be at the funeral.

The second letter was written and read by Danny's older brother Dominic. He said "Danny, the day of your passing, a big part of me died. I'll never be the same."

Dominic talked about how he misses hanging out with Danny. And at one point said, "I couldn't have asked for a more perfect brother."

He reminded the congregation, God only takes the best.

Danny's cousin also read a letter she wrote to him. She talked about his infectious smile and how Danny was always laughing.

During the service, the priest asked the question on everyone's mind: Why did this happen? He reminded everyone, there's no explanation. But that what family and friends are left with is love.

And he pointed out how much love the community of Chardon has shown Danny's entire family this week and how they'll continue to show love through out the healing process.
