MOSCOW, Ohio - National Weather Service teams say five tornadoes hit southwest Ohio in the latest bout of severe weather.
The teams that surveyed damage from Friday's storms confirmed nine tornadoes hit a region covering southwest Ohio, northern Kentucky and southeastern Indiana.
Weather service forecaster Mike Kurz at the agency's Wilmington office said Saturday that the Ohio village of Moscow felt the fury of an EF3 tornado with winds of about 160 mph.
He said it was the strongest among the five twisters to hit the state Friday. The storms in Ohio killed three people, including Moscow Village Council member Carol Forsee.
