SOLON -- About 11:30 p.m. March 17, police responded to a complaint of a loud party at a home on S.O.M. Center Road and, as they arrived, saw several teens yelling and running from the home and into the woods, some running to the rear of the home.
Many were caught and many were aggressively resisting and fighting with officers. Police requested mutual aid from police in Moreland Hills, Bentleyville and Orange Village police departments.
Police entered the home and found it a mess, with substantial evidence of drug and alcohol abuse.
Police said a total of 31 people -- seven 16-year-olds, fourteen 17-year-olds, eight 18-year-olds, one 19-year-old, and one 20-year-old -- were charged with crimes ranging from underage consumption, obstructing offical business, drug abuse and resisting arrest.
An additional 10 juveniles were referred to the Solon Juvenile Officer for consideration of possible charges.
Of the 41 people involved, one girl, 17, was from Lorain, one girl, 17, was from Avon Lake, and one girl, 17, was from Glenwillow.
All of the rest were from Solon.
The party's host/resident, 18, was arrested and charged with contributing to the delinquency of minors, possession of drug paraphernalia, and sales of liquor to underage persons.
He's being held on a $1,000 bond. His parents were not home at the time.
The investigation into the party and others who may have been involved actively continues.
