LWV: Public forum on 'fracking,' questions answered

AKRON -- The Leagueof Women Voters of Akron is holding a public forum from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on April 19 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron at 3300 Morewood Road in Fairlawn.

The forum is free and open to the public and will answer the questions: What is the truth about fracking? Will t really create long-lasting jobs? Is it safe for the environment? Is it regulated adequately?

A balanced panel of specialists will speak on the fracking process and the role of Ohio Department of Natural Resources. What about the frackingng boom and the need for energy independence" What are the future impacts on health and the environment?

The League of Women Voters, a non partisan political organization, seeks to provide objective information on issues of importance to the public.
