BROOKLYN -- Three are dead and one in the hospital after a police-involved shooting at the Cracker Barrel on Tiedeman Road in Brooklyn Thursday night.
Police believe a husband shot three members of his family just before 9 p.m.
A woman and one young girl were killed. The other young girl was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center. Brooklyn police shot and killed the suspect.
Brooklyn police first received a 9-1-1 call from a woman at the Cracker Barrel at about 8:40 Thursday night. She told police that she just told her husband she was leaving him and he was not taking it well.
She said he was in his car and kept circling the parking lot.
When Brooklyn Police arrived, they heard shots from inside the restaurant and saw the suspect leaving through the front door, holding a long gun.
Officers ordered the man to surrender but he did not. Police then shot and killed the suspect.
Names of the suspect and victims have not been released.
Police are also focusing on a silver Jeep Liberty with an open door in the Cracker Barrel parking lot.
Parma police, Ohio BCI and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office are all assisting in the investigation.
The restaurant will remain closed until the investigation is completed, Cracker Barrel spokeswoman Julie K. Davis said in an email from corporate offices in Lebanon, Tenn.
"This appears to be the result of a domestic dispute between two guests and no Cracker Barrel employees were involved," she said.
