AKRON -- A 20-year-old woman was seriously injured after crashing her car into the side of a church on Madison Avenue late Wednesday night.
The woman was driving south on Madison Avenue when she lost control of her car and crashed into Providence Baptist Church at about 11 p.m. Wednesday.
The driver had an argument with her sister, who was refusing to get into the car. She lost control after she quickly sped away, police said.
Police say she was a fairly inexperienced driver and that anger was the main factor in the crash.
She suffered serious injuries and was taken to Akron General Hospital.
The car and building were both significantly damaged.
While police were trying to control the crowd, one man was arrested disorderly conduct. He allegedly tried to jump into an EMS vehicle at the scene.
