CLEVELAND -- With 'The Avengers' due to come out in May, Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald and the County Board of Control will approve a $160,000.00 grant to the Greater Cleveland Film Commission.

The grant should get approval as soon as Monday.

"The Film Commission is the county's lead to attract the millions of dollars that this industry spends. Because of their efforts, productions like 'The Avengers' and 'I, Alex Corss' spent more than $80 million dollars locally," said Fitzgerald.

"Those projects could have happened almost anywhere. The Film Commission made them happen here."

The Greater Cleveland Film Commission helped create 900 local jobs according to a recent Cleveland State Univeristy economic impact study.
