CLEVELAND -- A girl who survived a shooting rampage inside a Brooklyn restaurant has taken a turn for the worse, according to a family statement issued  Friday.

The statement from the family of Kayla Allen reads:

"Kayla has taken a turn for the worse and has been released from MetroHealth Medical Center to the care of Hospice of the Western Reserve. We would like to thank the community for their continued support, as well as the staff at MetroHealth for the wonderful care they have provided to Kayla and our family during this difficult time."

Kayla has been hospitalized since the night of April 12. That's when her father entered the Cracker Barrel on Tiedeman Road and shot Kayla, her sister and her mother. Kayla's mother and sister died at the scene. Police shot and killed the father as he tried to leave the restaurant and refused to drop his weapon.

A 911 call made moments before the shooting by the mother, Kate Allen, indicated she had told her husband of her plan to leave him.

The family went to the restaurant to celebrate the 10th birthday of Kerri Allen.
