LAKEWOOD -- Fire and EMS crews from Lakewood and Rocky River rescued a family of four who needed help after their boat capsized offshore Sunday afternoon.
Crews responded to Kenneth Lane just after 3:30 p.m., which was the closest street to where the distressed boaters could be reached.
Crews used rope rescue equipment to reach the people who were at the bottom of a 30-foot cliff at the edge of the Lake Erie. They swam from the boat and went over a breakwall to get to that point.
The four, mom, dad, and their two daughters, have been pulled out and received medical attention at the scene. They were later transported to an area hospital.
Their identities have not been released at this time.
