SHAKER HEIGHTS -- Shaker Heights Police arrested William Hammons, 20, for the murder Sharon Anderson-Norfus, 60.
Anderson-Norfus was found strangled in her apartment last month.
Hammons spent a year in Lorain Correctional Facility for attempted robbery, and police say he has a lengthy record as a juvenile.
Anderson-Norfus' neighbors were relieved to hear of an arrest.
"I mean, I'm glad they have somebody" said a friend. "I can tell you that. I knew her. She was a good person. I'm glad they have somebody in custody."
Sharon Anderson-Norfus was well known, not only in her building, but in career doing make-up. She worked at MAC cosmetics in Beachwood Mall for more than a decade. Her murder shocked the community and scared her neighbors.
Her neighbor Renee Byrd said, "We're a little more cautious. We tend to look out for things a little bit more. We look out for our neighbors a little bit more."
The community hopes the search for Anderson-Norfus's killer is over.
Hammons will stand before a judge on Friday, June 15th.
