JACKSON TWP. -- A motorcyclist is dead after a gruesome accident where he was hit not once -- but twice -- then dragged a third of a mile.

The accident happened at the corner of Huckleberry Street and Frank Avenue in Jackson Township Wednesday night.

Thomas McGuire was stopped at the intersection when he was struck from behind by a Honda Accord driven by 23-year old Hillary Hurt.

McGuire was thrown into the southbound lane, hit by another car and dragged a third of a mile.

Police say that driver, Fredrick Ferrell, thought he was dragging debris from the accident so he waited to find a safer place to stop.

Hurt's mother says her daughter was not injured but can not remember the accident.

Jackson Township police say there were no drugs or alcohol involved.

It's not clear what or if any other distractions were to blame.

So far no one has been charged in connection with this accident.
