THOMPSON --An horrific crash at Thompson Raceway in Geauga County, claimed the life of a 56-year-old Richard Moore, Saturday afternoon, before a stunned crowd.
Thompson Police say Moore, of Cleveland, was involved in a crash with another dragster car, as they were going full speed on the track, upwards of 150 miles per hour.
Moore, slammed into the guardrail, which impaled the car. He died upon impact.
Meanwhile, the driver of the other car was taken to the hospital. His car flipped and landed on the car's roof.
However, police say that driver sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Those who knew the 56-year-old driver say he will be remembered for always being ready to help his racing colleagues.
