CLEVELAND -- Nearly a half-million people have visited the new Cleveland Horseshoe Casino in its first month of operation.
The casino opened on May 14. Approximately 15,000 guests visited the casino in its first full day of operation.
The casino says since the opening, gamblers have won more than $4 million in slot jackpots and table games players have netted more than $100,000.

Area restaurants around the Horseshoe, including a dozen that have partnered with the casino, also have seen an increase in business. In the last three weeks of May, casino patrons helped bring more than $20,000 in additional business. Chef Michael Symon tweeted on May 21 that his flagship restaurant Lola experienced its busiest week in its 15-year history.

"We're thrilled that the casino has been such a popular destination," said Horseshoe Cleveland Senior Vice President and General Manager Marcus Glover. "The lines of the first few days have been replaced by a steady buzz of excitement and casino access is fast and efficient around the clock."
"Having a casino right in Downtown Cleveland that has made a promise to stimulate local businesses that are attractive to visitors, creates a great opportunity for our local tourism and hospitality industry," said David Gilbert, president and CEO of Positively Cleveland, the city's marketing and tourism agency.
