CLEVELAND -- The Coast Guard and a nearby boater rescued three people in Lake Erie Friday morning when their 23-foot recreational boat began taking on water near Locust Point, Ohio.
All three of the boaters were wearing life jackets and there were no injuries reported.
The Coast Guard station at Marblehead received a call at about 8:40 a.m. about a boat taking on water and launched a rescue boat.
The Coast Guard crew arrived on the scene of the sinking boat at the same time as the good Samaritan boater and a commercial salvage boat.
Two of the boaters were taken aboard the Coast Guard boat and one was taken to the good Samaritan boat.
The commercial salvage boat towed to vessel to Turtle Creek Marina, near Oak Harbor.
No information was released as to why the boat began taking on water.
