AKRON -- A judge has sentenced an Akron man to life in prison for the shooting death of a childhood friend.
The sentencing for Christopher C. Meadows, 28, came today immediately after a jury convicted him on murder and felonious assault. He will be eligible for parole in 2027.
According to prosecutors, in December Meadows argued with Tramein Walker and shot him in the back and leg. Walker died of his injuries. Meadows and Walker had grown up together.
