CLEVELAND -- She is a survivor in every way -- JFK High School valedictorian Teasha Gilmore.

On May 22, she was shot in the head as she sat with some friends that night, mourning the death of her cousin.

Her cousin, Ron Davis, was found murdered in a car that same day, then Teasha was hit by a gunshot. She was lucky that the bullet wounded her scalp but not her brain.

The family believes both incidents may be related, but no arrests have been made.

Teasha Gilmore was determined to go to her prom and then graduate at the top of her class. She graduated with a 4.32 GPA and will go to Bowling Green University in the fall to become a nurse.
