Barberton: Hit-skip accident involving pedestrian

BARBERTON -- Barberton Police Department are still investigating a hit-skip accident involving a pedestrian that occurred Wednesday evening.

Around 6pm, Barberton police were informed of an accident on W. State St. near Glenn St. in which a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.

The pedestrian was taken to a local area hospital after being treated by paramedics at the scene.

The vehicle, described as a black Chevy Silverado extended cab truck with possible front driver's side damage, is reported to have fled the scene after striking the pedestrian.

It was last seen headed eastbound on Glenn St. toward Wooster Rd.

The accident is currently under investigation by the Barberton Police Department, assisted by members of the Summit Metro Crash Response Team.
