CLEVELAND -- A stabbing victim was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center after he collapsed inside Tower City after coming from W. 25th Street and Detroit Avenue across the Detroit-Superior bridge just after 1 a.m. Friday.
Police say the 17-year-old was stabbed on the left side of his back after he told a man to stop bothering his friend.
Police arrested and charged Billy C. Foster, 24, of Cleveland, with felonious assault. Police found he was carrying CDs, a cell phone and two, three-inch knives in his Coach purse and one knife had fresh blood on it.
The teen said he was walking eastbound towards the bridge when he saw a friend of his, an Oakwood man, 21, being hassled by Foster.
The teen said he told Foster to "chill out and leave my friend alone, it's not that serious."
The teen said Foster then pulled a knife out of his purse and stabbed him in the back.
The teen then made his way across the bridge and into Tower City, where he told a security guard what happened.
Foster followed the teen and the guard called police and took Foster into custody.
