CLEVELAND -- Police have released a stunning video from early Sunday morning in which a man crossing the street is hit by a car and survives.

Police say it happened around 1:45 a.m. as Michael Keough, 27, of Brooklyn, was jaywalking at Ontario Street and South Roadway in the crosswalk. He was struck by a white, four-door vehicle driving southbound on Ontario with a green light.

After hitting Keough, police say the driver failed to stop or help the victim, but instead fled the scene southbound on Ontario.

Keough was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where he was treated and released.

WKYC spoke with the victim's father and he says the last thing his son remembers is leaving the casino where he was with friends to grab a hot dog.

He went to cross the street and woke up in the hospital.

He says his son is banged up with a bad knee and arm. He is using a cane to walk, but returned to work Wednesday.

The Cleveland Police Department is asking for help from anyone with information about the incident to contact their accident investigation unit at 216-623-5295. Anonymous information can be given to Crime Stoppers by calling 216-252-7463.

Police say the vehicle involved could be a Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Marquis with "fresh damage" to the left front bumper assembly and lower-left front of the windshield.
