CLEVELAND -- A Maple Heights woman was run over by a car and susequently dragged down the street until her body came free from the car.
Police arrived at the scene near E. 112th and Kinsman Avenue just after 3:00 a.m. Saturday to find multiple woman screaming that someone had been run over and dragged.
According to witnesses, the suspect was involved in an altercation with a group of people. She got in the car with four others to leave the scene as objects were being thrown at their car.
The driver backed out of a driveway, hitting Ebony Canion, 34, who was standing near the apron of the driveway. She continued to drag Canion southbound on E. 112th Street to Regalia Avenue.
Canion was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center where she remains in critical condition.
Police have arrested a 28-year-old Cleveland woman in connection with the hit-and-run.
