NORTH ROYALTON -- A North Royalton man has been criminally charged with discharging fireworks.
According to a police report, Steven Grasser, a homeowner, was setting off fireworks Saturday night, and set some brush and ground vegetation on fire along a ravine on West 130th Street. He tried to put out the fire with a garden hose.
The North Royalton Fire and Police Departments had to respond and with the help of neighboring fire departments, put out the grass fire. Parts of West 130th Street had to be temporarily closed.
Grasser, 42, was arrested, booked at the police station and criminally charged with Discharge of Fireworks, a first degree misdemeanor. His remaining fireworks were confiscated by the North Royalton Police.
