COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A coroner's report says a northwest Ohio man was killed when an uprooted tree fell on his car during the latest round of violent storms this week.
The death of 35-year-old Christopher Zimmerman on Thursday afternoon is the second in the state since a powerful storm ripped across southwest and central Ohio a week ago.
A 70-year-old woman died June 29 in Muskingum County when a barn collapsed after she had gone to check on animals during the storm.
A report by Lucas County Coroner's Office investigator Bob Maxwell says Zimmerman was killed about 4 p.m. Thursday in the village of Holland when a tree fell on the car he was sitting in.
Thursday's storm left about 22,000 without power in the Toledo area.
