CLEVELAND -- An East Cleveland man has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole in 20 years after pleading guilty to charges including aggravated murder.
Prosecutors say Pravine Holland, 34, admitted in court that he strangled Mark McCord, 33, of East Cleveland in November 2011. According to prosecutors, Holland went to McCord's home to steal drugs. Prosecutors say Holland strangled McCord following an altercation and put the body in closet.
Police found McCord's body several days later after family and friends became worried about unreturned texts and calls.
Holland was arrested in December 2011.
Prosecutor Bill Mason said, "This is a calculated, cold blooded murder. The families and loved ones of the victim will now be given closure for the despicable crime of such a young, innocent man."
