CLEVELAND--Cleveland TV viewers are seeing more political ads than almost anyone in the country.

A study by Wells Fargo ranked the Cleveland TV market second only to Los Angeles in political ad spending with $17.7 million of ads bought through June 24th.

Former State Representative and Mitt Romney supporter Matt Dolan said of the Presidential candidates, "They are making good on their promise to improve the economy. They are improving it for TV stations for sure."

Cleveland TV stations reach a big chunk of Ohio's population. Of course it's among the handful of key swing states coveted by both campaigns.

Many claim to  be disgusted by the barrage of negative ads.

Hiram College Professor Jason Johnson said, "Everyone says they are turned off by it, just like everyone says they are turned off by reality TV. But they tune in. Negative ads work very well."

Some project Presidential campaign spending could reach $50 million in the Cleveland market by Election Day.

Ohio's Senate race is seeing superspending. Campaigns and outside group SUPERPACS are pouring millions in.

Senator Sherrod Brown's been the target of big spending by business and conservative groups attacking his liberal voting record.

"It's not good for our system. I'm a big boy. I can take it. But money in politics makes people more cynical...It doesn't do our democracy any good," he said.

Early voting explains why the ads are coming soon.  They will be coming more fast and furious as November approaches.
