PERRY TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A motorcycle driver died and his passenger was sent to the hospital after their motorcycle collided with a car on Route 20 in Perry Township Sunday afternoon.
A man, 48, was driving his motorcycle east on North Ridge Road with a woman, 30, as his passenger at about 2:45 p.m. Sunday.
An oncoming car turned left onto Lane Road in front of them when the motorcycle collided with the car. Both the motorcycle driver and passenger were thrown from the bike, highway patrol said.
The driver of the motorcycle died in the accident. His passenger was taken to Madison Hospital and later flown to MetroHealth Medical Center. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The motorcycle driver and passenger were not wearing helmets.
The driver and passenger of the car were not injured. Both were wearing seat belts.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor, but the crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
