BLISSFIELD, Michigan -- A 38-year-old Ohio man has been charged in the fatal shootings of his estranged girlfriend and her sister and the wounding of their mother in southeastern Michigan.

A search for Thomas Fritz, 38, of Sylvania, Ohio, that began over the weekend is ongoing and he may be in the Cleveland area.

Fritz is accused in the murders of his estranged girlfriend, 34-year-old Amy Merrill, and her sister, 24-year-old Lisa Gritzmaker. The women were shot to death at a home on North Lane Street late Saturday night.

The mother of the slain women was also shot and she remains hospitalized.

Police think Fritz may have travelled to Ohio.

He is driving a burgundy or maroon 2002 Honda Civic with license plates EQP8075.

Anyone with information on Fritz's whereabouts should call the Michigan State Police at (517)-241-8000.

In a news release Monday, the Michigan State Police say Fritz faces two counts of open murder and one count of assault with intent to commit murder in Lenawee County.
