CLEVELAND --  Investigators are acting on new information and are searching for the remains of Cleveland teen Amanda Berry.

The 17-year-old disappeared back in 2003 while on her way home from work at a Burger King at West 110th Street and Lorain Avenue.

Investigators confirm they have received information that the teen's body may have been buried in an area near W. 30th Street and Wade Avenue, not far from I-90.

A house used to sit on the site but has since been demolished.

The FBI says it has conducted searches such as this before in the Berry case. The family has been notified of the current search.

The Cleveland Police Department, the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department and Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason are also on-site assisting in the search efforts.

The Investigator Tom Meyer reports that authorities are acting on a tip from an inmate being held in Lucasville.

A neighbor who lives on Wade tells Channel 3 News that a prisoner came to the site on July 18 and spent several hours with authorities, pointing out locations.

Channel 3 News and wkyc.com will continue to follow this story as it develops.
