CLEVELAND -- One man was struck and killed by a driver who then fled the scene of the accident on Cleveland's west side early Friday morning.
Mid-afternoon Friday, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as Terrence Smith, 55, of Cleveland.
Police responded to the accident around 12:55 Friday morning at West 73rd Street and Denison Avenue.
Police report that the man was struck by a full-sized black vehicle which did not stop.
The vehicle continued westbound on Denison.
When police arrived, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office was called to the scene.
The man was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead on the scene.
According to reports, the man was propelled into the eastbound lane where he was hit again by a Chevrolet Malibu.
The driver stopped after hitting the man and stayed to talk with police.
That car was seen being towed from the scene of the accident.
