PORTAGE COUNTY -- A Kent man has been arrested and a warrant issued for his brother in connection with two Portage County burglaries.
On July 27, at 11 a.m. deputies were called to a home on Coit Road in Shalersville Township after the homeowner noticed the house had been forcibly entered. Multiple items had been taken.
About 90 minutes later, deputies were called to a home on Cook Road in Rootsstown Township after a neighbor reported a suspicious vehicle.
Deputies pulled the car over and found items matching those taken from the Coit Road home in plain view inside the vehicle. Deputies took Robert Devine III into custody without incident. He's charged with burglary.
Investigators were able to determine that Devine's brother, Christopher Devine, had been in the car but bailed out when he saw deputies. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
