SOUTH EUCLID -- Authorities are hoping to bust those responsible for vandalizing a trio of statues on the campus of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish on South Green Road.
According to the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, the statues were damaged last weekend when they were toppled from their pedestals. Two of the statues stand more than five feet tall, a third about three feet.
The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland said two of the larger statues of St. Anthony and the Virgin Mary would have "required a considerable effort to dislodge from their pedestals" as the latter weighs more than 1,000 pounds.
All three statues have been placed in temporary storage until repairs can be made.
Anyone with information leading to those responsible, can call the South Euclid Police Department at 216-381-1234.
