CLEVELAND -- A man was shot in the face during an apparent robbery while returning home from a fishing trip with a friend early Friday morning.
Just before 2 a.m., two men were pulling their boat into a driveway on East 61st Street, near Francis Avenue in Cleveland, when a man approached them with a gun.
He fired a shot into the air and one of the men ran. The suspect fired at the man, but missed. He then shot the remaining man in the face.
The victim was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center. He was in serious condition at the time.
The suspect fled the scene.
