CLEVELAND -- The Coast Guard rescued a 40-year-old man who was injured after he dove off his boat into a sand bar at Presque Isle Bay North of the Erie Yacht Club Saturday afternoon.
A watch stander at that Coast Guard Station in Erie, Pa., was notified around 1:35p.m. that a man who dove off his boat into five feet of water, hit a sand bar, and reportedly could not feel or move his arms.
The rescue crew immobilized the man and transported him to the Erie Yacht Club, where emergency medical services were waiting to take the man to Hamot Medical Center in Erie.
The man was listed in serious condition.
