MASSILLON -- Early Wednesday morning authorities found the body of a 68-year-old man inside a vehicle that was parked at Affinity Medical Center.
Authorities say it appears the man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after allegedly shooting his estranged wife in the knee.
According to police, it started when the man entered a home in the 3900 block of Erie Avenue after 2 a.m. and a verbal argument ensued. The man allegedly fired a single .22 caliber shot, striking her in the knee.
Police say he took the 58-year-old woman to Affinity Medical Center for treatment around 2:50 a.m. A short time later, Massillon Police found him dead inside his vehicle, which was parked at the hospital.
The incident remains under investigation.
