LORAIN-- The Lorain man suspected of killing his girlfriend, 26-year-old Catherine Hoholski, has been taken into police custody.
According to police, her body was found in an apartment they shared. Lorain police as well as U.S. Marshals took 30-year-old Albert Fine into police custody Thursday evening in Lexington, Kentucky.
Police say Fine had ties to the area and a tip led them there. Fine was taken in without incident and is expected to be returned to Lorain on Friday.
Meanwhile, residents at the Villas of Beau Monde apartment complex in Lorain weren't entirely shocked to hear that a body was discovered inside building 2102.
Neighbors say for weeks there was a strong odor coming from inside the building. One woman says she reported the odor to maintenance and the building management.
Hoholski was reported missing by her parents on July 12.
Her body was discovered by police on Wednesday afternoon. They immediately began searching for Fine and a female friend, Merry Bennett, aka Merry Rivera.
Police found Bennett with Fine in Lexington. Police do not believe she is a suspect, but they believe she may have knowledge about the murder.
Fine is expected to be brought back to Lorain on Friday.
