ASHLAND-- The Ashland community played a big role in getting the message out about fugitive Nate Summerfield.

Law enforcement applauded their efforts at a press conference Wednesday afternoon. Residents spent countless hours papering local businesses and telephone poles, as well as passing out flyers of the murder suspect.

It's no surprise that word of Summerfield's arrest traveled, quickly. Raye Akers wrote "Nate Summerfield," with bars representing a jail cell on her minivan.

"I went straight to my van. I wanted to blast it that he was caught," Akers said.

Hailie Mullet made a few t-shirts and dozens more posters showcasing the wanted man. "I've been making a lot of posters and t-shirts to get the story out there," Mullet said.

Wednesday afternoon she sported a new poster pinned to her shirt, announcing Summerfield's capture.

"It felt exciting," she said, to make the updated sign.

While some posters of the recently captured Summerfield still remained, others were ripped away or modified.

The one taped only feet away from a memorial for Lynn, at Beer Barrel, the place where she worked, had "never mind" written over it.

Lynn's co-worker, Michael Hyatt, says people continue to come by to give to the family.

"She'd be overwhelmed I think that that many people caring enough to give time for her and her kids," Hyatt said.
