He reportedly arrived in Dare County after midnight Saturday.
Jackenheimer, of Ashland, disappeared while on vacation with Summerfield and her two children. Searchers found her body in mid-July in Frisco, North Carolina. She had been strangled and stabbed.
Summerfield was arrested Aug. 15 at a Wadsworth motel following a month-long nationwide manhunt.
