DARE COUNTY, N.C. -- Dare County Sheriff says suspected killer Nathan Summerfield is scheduled to appear in court in North Carolina at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to a report from our Gannett affiliate WFMY.

Summerfield is accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend Lynn Jackenheimer, of Ashland, in the Outer Banks in July.

Summerfield will appear before Judge Edgar Barnes at 9:30 a.m. in Manteo. No cameras or cell phones will be allowed inside the courtroom.

On Sunday, deputies said Summerfield was quietly booked into the Dare County Detention Center around 2:30 a.m.. He went before a magistrate and was promptly denied bond.

Summerfield is accused of murdering Jackenheimer by strangling and stabbing her while on a family vacation in the Outer Banks in July.

He was caught Wednesday at a motel in Medina, Ohio, after more than a month on the run.

Jackenheimer's body was found in Frisco, N.C. 10 days after she was reportedly last seen.
