CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Police have arrested a man suspected of robbing a patron of the Cleveland Horseshoe Casino in the Tower City parking lot just before 5 a.m. Sunday morning.
Police arrested Ronald Davon Wells, 27, of Cleveland, on Tuesday as the suspect in the robbery.
Charges are expected. The arrest came after police viewed the surveillance footage from the Cleveland Horseshoe Casino and the victim said the man was the same one who played at his table.
The victim and his friend, both men in their 20s from Warren, said one had just won $1,800 in the casino and they had just gotten off the escalator at Tower City when the suspect approached them and asked for a light for his cigarette.
They said they didn't have a light and the suspect pulled a handgun from his pocket. One Warren man ran back into Tower City while the suspect pulled money from the pants pocket of the other Warren man.
Police got the surveillance video and it clearly shows the suspect at two of the same gaming tables with them and also that he followed the Warren men out of the casino.
Police arrested the suspect at his home Tuesday.
