Sandusky: Man pleads guilty in officer's death

SANDUSKY -- A judge has sentenced a man to life in prison without the possibility of parole in the death of a Sandusky police officer.

Kevin Randleman pleaded guilty in Erie County Common Pleas Court to aggravated murder, having a weapon under disability and carrying a concealed weapon. Judge Tygh Tone sentenced Randleman following the plea.

He could have faced the death penalty if he'd been convicted at a trial. 

Randleman fatally shot Officer Andrew Dunn on March 19, 2011. Officer Dunn had stopped Randleman-who was riding a bike-for questioning just after 3 a.m.. Officer Dunn was able to return fire critically injuring Randleman.
