North Ridgeville: Several cats die in house fire

NORTH RIDGEVILLE - Four cats were killed in a house fire in North Ridgeville on Thursday morning.

North Ridgeville fire received a call about a fire around 11:30 a.m. on Main Street.

When they arrived on scene, the front of the 3 bedroom house was engulfed in flames. Fire crews from Avon, Avon Lake, Westlake, North Olmstead, and Olmstead Township also responded to the scene.

It took crews about thirty minutes to get the fire under control.

The couple who resides in the house was not at home at the time.    

Also in the house were about ten cats, four of which were found dead.

One firefighter sustained minor injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Damages are reported to be around $125,000.
