WILLOUGHBY -- Police have arrested Ryan Christoph, 24, of Eastlake, after damaging property outside the Willoughby Senior Center on Saturday.
Around 7:42 p.m., the Willoughby Police Department received numerous 911 calls about a red Ford pick-up truck driving recklessly eastbound on State Route 84.
The 911 calls continued thoughout the evening, reporting that the truck was doing "donuts" on the ball field near the parking lot of the senior center.
When police arrived, the truck had left the scene. They noticed the chain link and wooden fences that separate the parking lot and the ball field had been damaged.
Officers also discovered that Christoph had struck a corner of the senior center building.
Witnesses continued to call 911 to report that the Ford was traveling eastbound on Euclid Avenue heading into downtown Willoughby, where a patrol officer was able to stop the truck.
Christoph was combative with police, making threats and attempting to break out of the cruiser while he was being transported.
He was taken to Lake West Medical Center for complaints of injury to his left leg and his neck. He continued to be combative towards hospital staff while inside the emergency room.
Christoph will be held without bond at the Lake County Jail awaiting an arraignment hearing on Tuesday at the Willoughby Municipal Court.
