PARMA -- The Parma Fire Department was called to the area of York and Pleasant Valley roads for a report of a teenage boy that fell into a catch basin.
The boy was riding his bike with a friend through large puddles when he fell into a creek.
Thirteen firefighters were called to the scene, where they discovered the boy was swept into a 36-inch drain.
They started pulling off manhole covers and yelling into them.
According to firefighters, six manhole covers and about 1500 feet away from the entrance of the pipe, the boy answered them.
A firefighter entered the manhole and found the boy.
He was conscious and alert and was taken to a nearby hospital with his father to be examined.
