MENTOR -- On Tuesday, Mentor City Council passed an ordinance that would allow for bow hunting within city limits in an attempt to maintain the deer population.

While some council members wanted the city to pursue a deer culling program instead, there were concerns that a Deer Management Plan would take too long to implement.

Bow hunting season begins this month with some restrictions.

Bow hunting is only allowed on five acres or larger, they must have permission of the property owner, and they must hunt from at least eight feet above ground.
