It seems that even the Tooth Fairy is feeling the effects of inflation, a new survey says.
A Visa survey released Tuesday found that kids are averaging $3 per tooth under their pillows this year. That's a 15 percent increase from 2011.
It's a good time to lose those baby teeth. Some children are getting as much as $20 a tooth today.
Visa has plans to launch an iOS app to help parents calculate the going rate for Tooth Fairy visits. They say the goal is to encourage fiscal responsibility, but some financial experts are concerned it could ignite competition among parents, leading to increasingly large Tooth Fairy donations.
