AKRON -- An Akron woman has been sentenced to prison for stealing more than $350,000 from law firm clients.
Catherine Chenoweth, 56, pleaded guilty in June to one count of wire fraud. According to the U.S. Attorney, at least some of the money taken was used on gambling trips to casinos in West Virginia.
Chenoweth worked as a paralegal for a law firm in Uniontown. Her work for estate and probate clients gave her access to bank account and financial information according to federal prosecutors.
The judge sentenced Chenoweth to 2-and-a-half years in prison.
